Architecture Project - Annotations
In this project, I have photographed architecture in my local area, and used these pictures to create designs based on other designers. I also created critical links about each of the designers.
Photographic Techniques
Leading Lines - A leading line draws the viewer to a point of interest in a photo.
High Contrast - A black and white photo that has had the levels altered.
Low vantage point - Photo taken from a lower angle, almost 'underneath' the building.
Rule of 3rds - A photo that is dissected into equal sections by dividing into 3, both horizontally and vertically.
In this photo, I have attempted to use the photographic technique of low vantage point:

These are the 4 main photographic techniques that I have attempted to use when taking my architectural photographs. To see all my photos, visit my College Photographs page.

Critical Links / Designs
In this project, I decided to look at the work of 3 different designers:
-
Binet & Herve
-
David Carson
-
Paula Scher
After looking into the work of these designers, I decided to create a critical link for each and also a series of designs of my own based off work of the designer.
I decided to look into the work of Binet & Herve because they are known for taking high contrast photographs of buildings and architecture.
I Decided to look at the work of David Carson because I wanted to add typography to my designs, and I liked the way David Carson does this in his work with overlapping and rotating text.
I Decided to look at the work of Paula Scher because I noticed how she uses brighter and more striking colours in her work, and wanted to include some of these in my designs.
